I’m so excited about this blog post, as I’m not even that much of a fan of bananas, but this vegan banana bread recipe with chocolate chips creates something just so darn dreamy and delicious, so I’m typing at 100mph, wanting to share this recipe with you ASAP! First though, here’s a little story about how my love affair with vegan chocolate chip banana bread begun… I actually give thanks to the lovely Shona Vertue, who when I caught up with her for brunch last year I ate my first ever slice of banana bread and it’s had a little place… View Post

I always say that things happen for a reason and I believe that they do. Some things more obviously than others. About three days before our trip to Bali, the hotel we were due to be staying in let us down at the last minute, so I reached out to a contact of mine to see if she was working with any hotels in Bali that she could recommend. Within the hour we were booked in to stay at the Svarga Loka Wellness Resort in Ubud for four nights. Located in the Penestanan area of Ubud, Bali, the Svarga Loka Wellness… View Post

I know, I know, I’m chatting about beauty favourites – who’d have thought it! But it’s something I get asked about a lot, so every now again I like to share my favourite products with you. I’m a bit of a creature of habit, so even though there are some newer products in here, there are also a couple of old faithfuls that I’m still loving. I’m going to cover everything from hair, skincare and make up, but do not fear, that doesn’t mean it’ll be a long blog post, as I like to keep thing simple when it comes… View Post

Running Motivation: I’m currently coming to the end of two weeks without running, which has been hugely frustrating and therefore my running motivation is lacking. I have no one else to blame other than myself… I’m a muppet, but a muppet who realised something. Those who watch my Instagram stories might have already seen the dreaded blisters, but for those who don’t, let me fill you in. I bought myself a new pair of Dr Martens a couple of weeks ago and decided a great way to break them in would be to walk for 30 minutes up and down… View Post

Best Books 2017: Seeing as today is World Book Day, it seems like a good day to tell you about some of the books I love, the reasons I read and also why it’s ok to read what YOU want to read. Let’s celebrate the best books 2017. It wouldn’t be a modern world without an annoying slither of judgement every now and again and where something like reading should be applauded no matter the book title, sometimes it isn’t. I’m not ashamed to say that apart from Anastasia Steele’s inner goddess ruining a few good moments, I hardly hated… View Post

Towards the end of last week I had my blog open on my laptop and wrote numerous first paragraphs for a few different blog post ideas and none of them felt right. I’m hoping that by writing down my feelings now I might be able to get my blog mojo back up and running. I know it’s not even been long since my last post, but I just really feel like since the middle of last week I’ve been trying to force a blog post, which isn’t ok. I’ve always wanted Imperfect Matter to be a place for motivation and inspiration,… View Post

I’m a snacker. There, I’ve said it. I always have been and always will be. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Not since I swapped sugary snacks for healthy snacks a long time ago. I’m sure many of you snack like I do, whether when we’re a bit stressed, maybe you’re bored at work, or maybe you just ‘fancy’ something. Whatever the reason, I think it’s important to pick nourishing snacks that are good for our insides – please note, I’m not against chocolate, I just live by an “everything in moderation” rule and love healthy foods. Here are my… View Post

If you follow me on Instagram, you might remember that I taught a yoga class for an intimate Free People event a few weeks ago and didn’t stop talk about the beautiful Free People activewear for quite a while. Free People have now launched the app in the UK for iPhone and asked me to do a Free People activewear edit for you all to browse. I apologise to you bank balance in advance! 😉 I’ve been a fan of the brand for many years, so when they launched the Free People activewear range, FP Movement, I got rather excited. For me,… View Post

One of the things I love most about my training and yoga is that I do so many different things. Keeping my training fresh, mixing up my workouts, doing yoga, calisthenics, hiking and running is what motivates me a lot of the time. Knowing that no week will be the same. Sure, I focus a lot on yoga and meditation, but in terms of fitness it’s so important to me to be versatile and to keep my body guessing about what form of exercise might be coming next. There are so many benefits to mixing things up including these ones… View Post

Ever wondered what to do in Finland? I’ve got you covered… Before you ask, no, you didn’t read that title wrong. Areas of Finnish Lapland have been recorded to have the freshest and cleanest air in the world – where there is a population of people living. Of course, places in which there are no humans will be fresher, but the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is nearly as fresh as you’ll get on an active holiday. My vlog of what to do in Finland, which you can watch below is the best way to see what we got up to and how… View Post
